Title:What Are You Figuring Now? Author:Jeri Ferris

Setting :( When/Where/Who?)
The story happened in 1736.It took place in Maryland where wolves and wiled cats lived. There was a boy named Benjamin Banneky who turned to be a famous person. He helped and worked in a tobacco farm with his family.

Plot:
What are you figuring now? Is a book about Benjamin Bannkey who was a special and famous man and a free black man. Benjamin’s Grandma Molly taught him hundreds of numbers when he was five. When he was a kid he counted whatever he saw. He taught himself how to read and write from a bible. When he was 20 years old he went to the store and borrowed a watch and built by hand a wooden clock for himself. Benjamin was so smart he made himself an astronomer and wrote lots of almanac. He even helped build the U.S.A. Capitol in 1791. Also, he figured out for himself the mysteries of stars, the planets, and time itself.

Describe the ending:
At the end Benjamin was to old and tiered to work in the farm so he stayed home and wrote lots of Almanac. He had lots of visitors in his cabin. Today, no one knows who Benjamin Banneky is because all his property burned to the ground after his funeral. But we do know that he was a free black man, a farmer who made a wooden clock, and he made himself an astronomer. Finally, Benjamin died in 1806 because his heart stopped.
